Messages Sent to Gmail are not Recording Openers

Overview

For the messages sent to Gmail domain, you may see 0(zero) opens in reports. This is happening because of the delays in delivery to the Gmail domain. At the same time, messages sent to other domains (not Gmail) will be delivered without delays, and also the opens are being tracked. This article provides information on how to configure your LyrisHQ to minimize delivery delays.

Information

You are seeing 0(zero) opens for some messages because Gmail is not delivering all your messages on time. They might be delaying the messages because Gmail might consider your messages as spam if you don't follow the following best practices recommended by us: 

  1. Configure DKIM for all sender domains.
  2. Configure a Custom Return Path (CRP).
  3. Mask reply-to addresses.
  4. Customize "From Address" for Mailings.
Note: LyrisHQ can't affect Gmail policy and can't be sure why Gmail is delaying your messages but we strongly encourage you to apply configurations described in the articles above to minimize delivery delays.
